Both Alan and Maxine have a keen interest in understanding the science that connects all things at an energetic/atomic level and share a fundamental belief that many illnesses and diseases are caused by a deep-seated imbalance and disharmony between the mind, body and soul.
Alan is a friendly, knowledgeable and experienced integrative therapist. He adopts a multi therapeutic approach to his work, combining various therapeutic modalities in order to facilitate the desired positive change that you are seeking.
After studying various psychotherapeutic models and approaches at post graduate level, Alan has pursued ongoing professional development and training with some of the world’s most respected and revered therapists. Alan is an experienced Clinical Master Hypnotherapist and also a Practitioner in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Reiki and PSYCH-K amongst others. He is a proud member of the following regulatory bodies: National Guild of Hypnotists (USA) and the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
Dr Maxine Stead is a former nationally recognised clinical researcher within the NHS and academia. For 14 years Maxine worked in clinical research for the Government, initially as a project manager in cancer research and then helping to lead a national organisation coordinating research activity across the NHS. In 2001 she obtained a PhD for her research into the quality of life of women with cancer and has always been interested in improving people’s quality of life.
In 2007 Maxine took the decision to establish Alexandra House Spa, helping people with busy jobs and lifestyles like her own to take time out and to develop a different approach to life. Since then, Maxine has built the Spa into one of the best-known retreats for emotional and physical wellbeing in the north of England. She is qualified in Indian Head Massage and is a Reiki Master and has also practised yoga and meditation for several years.
